Purpose 1: keep some record of the rich discussions occurring during the STScI Massive Stars and Starbursts Journal Club. The club meets biweekly for an hour, usually on Thursdays at 1 or 2 pm. About 10 people including senior astronomers, postdocs, and graduate students, regularly attend. We often host speakers from external institutions.
Purpose 2: provide an opportunity to post comments, thoughts, ideas, and questions that may not get asked during the meeting. Often questions and ideas arise only after one has had some time to contemplate.
Purpose 3: provide clarification of what went on during the meeting. By reading the questions and answers in written form, the attendees may understand better their meaning.
Purpose 4: allow members who were out of town during the meeting, as well as collaborators working at other institutions, to participate.
